    It a topfin HOB filter, 20 gallon model, it also 3 to 4 years old, actual is there some that would help my filtration that I can put in place of my activated carbon?

    you can do eheim brown cocoa balls, broken pieces of terra cotta pots, sponge filter, floss, etc. etc. etc.

    the broke pieces of terra cotta pots sound the easiest to get a hold of seeing how I got half of one still.
