Goldfish are a poor mans koi.
Koi are off the chain expensive.

Eggs eaten this morning.... I have ONE last idea but I need to buy an eggcrate diffuser.... I will divide the female from the male leaving the male on the side with the eggs.... this may stop the idea of wanting to spawn again... after this... I dont know what else to do...

I still yet need to buy a diffuser to divide the tank

Ever considered taking the eggs and manually hatching them? I know this presents whole new set of problems a with the rising of the fry but could be worth a shot

I have... but the problems of raising the fry are SO ENORMOUS that I dont really want to undertake that.... If it were Angelfish, yes I would... Discus... no...

The other option is to keep both fish away from the eggs with a screen and hope that the fry will be ok when they go free swimming... I dont know how to make the screen though to cover the cone with... so I have not done that.

I THINK that its the female eating them wanting to spawn again OR its the male eating it BECAUSE the female wants to spawn again... Thats where the divider is a good option... it ends the "lets spawn" cycle...

With discus fry it does pose a very difficult problem!
I have seen Angelfish never became a proved pair, were every spawn had to be manually raised
I know with aggressive new world cichlids I often had to separate the male and female after a spawn mainly to keep the female from being beat up or killed by the male protecting the spawn. Most of those were brutal spawner anyway

And that is one other reason why you hate cichlids huh? :)

Don't know if that would make the "HATE LIST" but most certainly didn't do much to endear me with certain specie.

Trust me... I wish I could manually raise them myself... Im out of money again so I am not able to buy the egg-crate for the divider... I may just throw the female out next time they spawn and see what happens... I do have the 55 gallon tank she can go in for a bit... let the male raise them all himself... hmmmm
