Male Bristlenose Pleco Appearing Extremely Bloated in Belly?

    They are actually blue/cyan

    oh, I see now (I was looking at the bottom of him/her). With a closer look I do see the blue hint.

    How's the Epsom salt treatment going ? Can you see any improvement ?

    There is a bigger picture of it on my Discus log.... a bit more clear to! I had to blow some colors out to get it to look good for an avitar

    No improvement at all. Truthfully I'm amazed he hasn't exploded (thats how huge he's gotten now). He's acting fine in all other aspects? I'm wondering If I should do the humane thing for him? That bloating has to be extremely painful I would think?

    Epsom salt is also a mild pain reliever for fish. How much Epsom salt is he currently in ?

    In probably what is a 2 gallon container (with what was increased to 1 tbsp over 2 days).
    He passed away in the epsom salt, woke up to let the dog out and he was deceased and the anus was soo protruded that it turned red...the belly was also huge, but stayed transparent.

    I'll lock this since he passed :cry:

    Sorry you lost them Dawn. If it wasn't bloat then I'd guess internal parasites. :confused:
