So i'd figure i'd post my new saltwater project as i go go along with the setup. I was researching the enternet about sw tanks and i guess this will be considered a FOWLR system but down the road i may throw in a green star polyp. Right now it's going to be empty until we get the house tented which will probably be sometime next month. But at least i can pay off my credit card and get the equipment. As i work on the project opinions are much needed as i basically am learning how to do this saltwater setup from you guys since i really have no clue about "real" saltwater tanks.

yah it is, i have no idea how i'm going to get to the bottom of the tank, i'll have to be soooo carefull when i put the rock in, lol when i end up doing weekly cleaning to the tank i'll probably have to get a snorkel stuff like the goggle and breathing thing so i can clean the bottom of the tank without having to take all the water out, even then i'd have to take half the water out, WC will NOT be fun on this tank

well if you or others havent seen my other post, i just screwed myself over when i was looking at the lid and when i went to put it back on the tank it slipped and shattered to a million pieces and i've seen at least one partial small crack on the bottom of the tank that doesn't go through the other side so i hope the tank is sitll ok. And i noticed when i did look at the lid that the there was a little flabby rubbery thing that lifted up and would have not even worked since i don't think any of the equipment would have been able to fit through there

yea so now i can keep my filter. I"m just not looking foward to how expensive the metal halide light will be now. And the 36" is $729!!! I'm thinking i will look into the T5 lighting now since my tank won't be so tall. There's no way that i can pay 700sum.

yea but from my experience it's all in the light co2 help a little but barely if you have good light. try looking for odesseya light they are pretty cheap for some nice ones should be like 100-200 also t% dont grow plants good.... they just help them die slower thats what happened to me [boxing]
