They're really cool, I love the color of these guys. Not many fish are as beautiful as the Demasoni.... In my opinion, that is...

Thanks, I got 18 demasoni, 20 yellow labs, 3 anubias and a 30 gal complete setup for $70 off of CL. I have since moved the yellows and the Dems to their own tanks. I am really enjoying these guys...

Saw at least 5 more fry hiding in the hornwort floating at the top. I am needing to set up a tank for the fry but don't really have the time. I may have to stay up late tonight and get it setup... Curtis...

Nice a fellow Demasoni lover. They are the nicest dwarf mbuna around. Here are a couple pics of my colony. Tank is a little cloudy I just took out the tropheus Mplungu that were in with them.

The trick with them is to have a large group and a lot more females than males. I have 17 females and 3 real nice looking alpha males. Here is a pic of one of the alpha males. Also I do the opposite of what most people say. I go with hardly any caves on all my cichlids and haven't lost a cichlid in over 3 years due to aggresion from other cichlids. I think they get more aggresive with a lot of caves because they are so fired up to defend thier territory. I used to always keep my tanks filled with rock with hundreds of caves and was always taking out dead fish due to aggression. No caves hardly has equaled no dead fish.

hey, theres a thought. Maybe that was my issue when I did them.
Had TONS of hideouts everywhere in the tank for them..as soon as they got of size it turned into slaughterfest at the apollo. Lol!

No caves. That is what I preach. My dad doesn't even use caves in his tanks anymore and he was old school. I laugh when I hear people saying to use as many cave as possible with cichlids. And you get to see your fish a lot more because they aren't hiding in caves.
