You don't have to stir it, can use a python or equiv. when doing water changes--and use MTS. Oh, I spotted the lil guy....that doesn't look like pea gravel? The Pea gravel I bought in the past at wal-mart was very small pieces of varying colors..but mostly smooth.

if it said pea gravel you'll be okay. Rinsing is to just save ya from the dust/cloudiness.

the water was brown. i rinsed it really really good. it is like a 50 pound bag. might not really be. but it was heavy i dropped it when i tried to put it in the bugy. only 3.68.

That's the stuff! I thought it was a 25lb bag...lol...I knew it was a big bag.
Brown water---hence the rinsing the heck out of it and clarity recommendation. Throw some charcoal in the filter and it should quickly clear.

yup, that stuff is nasty to rinse...but you won't find anything cheaper on the positive side.

It was platys that she was going to add (not sure if she added them yet?)

Looking good! Need some more cabomba? Lol. I just posted like 60 stalks on the forum. ((Weekly tank maint))

With you having hard water...is it growing quite as fast?
