Yeah, no black and muted coloring. I have one in my tank that I just noticed the other day. I thought it was a female at first but after looking closely I noticed he had some colors.

This is an example. It's not my picture so I won't leave it up long.

I'll try to get a picture of the one I have but I'm not sure if I'll be able to single him out.

That is kind of what that one I have looks like?!? It looks like the pattern has been "drawn finely" on the fish but has never been colored in. Well, someone started but never finished :)

I can't find mine. He blends in with the females so well. Next time I spot him I'll try to take a picture.

I finally found him. He has a small black spot on his tail and a light smudge on his body. I'll post it in my Endler's Photo Thread ( <a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.theexoticfish.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5</a> ).

That one that we have been talking about has a strange color pattern. His little "sword" coloration on the tail is kind of Cyan and not red.... I would not say it looks like the "blondie" that you showed me but it does not look like the full colored one either!

And yes the mother had either 4 or 5 babies... they are about the same size as 2 week old Angelfish Fry.... well, now they are bigger but just as a gauge that is how big the Endler fry is at birth... Mine are about 2x that size now... They grow fast at that little size.

He may actually color up completely. It takes about 2-3 months I believe.

Well the males don't fully color up until they're done growing. To me they seem to grow slower than the females.

I always love going to the tank and finding "micro" fry. I look through the duck weed and oak leaf water sprite and there they are. Iddy biddy buggers! ;o)
