i've been chompped on a few times myself...lol
mine will move their bushes, driftwood, bubble stone around and make pits and mounds of gravel i think to get attention...we'll straighten it out and they'll move it around again...it's like a game to them. haha! they are great pets and have super personalities.

we're running 3 filters, magnum 350, magnum h.o.t 250, a/c 110. filtration isn't where i would like it to be but it's been working out so far, just a little more work on our part but worth it in the end. we change out about 90 - 95gal of water a week and clean one filter.

holy heck, that's alotta water...If funds were in place I'd be trolling and keeping my eye open for a canister like the Fluval Fx5 or the Rena Filstar Xp4. (picturing how dirty that hob gotta be at the end of the week with the oscars).

I had them YEARS ago and they were absolute nightmares (rearranging the tank CONSTANTLY, breaking the old style glass heaters from literally ramming into them, and with the live food...constantly netting the heads of the rosy reds outta the tank, just a big UGH). But I did find them interesting with the Jacks being my fav..such pretty colors on them when properly cared for.

i would like to get a marineland c-360 or the c-530 for this tank. water changes due seem to be a pain at time, but like i said it's worth it in the long run. we use the tank water that we clean out the filters in to water the wifes house plants and a couple that she's got outside. we quit feeding live food to them (exept for a nightcrawler every now &then).
