I do tend to agree with lemon albiet the fact that I have given my fish feeders in the past.

I will however follow up on what I was planning on changing out too and that is meal worms..and in the summer night crawlers.

A far better protein alternative anyways.

Hole in the head is usually a foul water indication most of the time.

Peas are GREAT!!!! That my be why you have not got HITH?! They aide in digestion and help the Oscars pass the feeders faster!

This was the diet for my Oscars:
    Tetra Cichlid Jumbo Sticks
    Peas
    Crickets
    Nightcrawlers
    Random Insects found in house
Algae wafers - the Pleco and them used to fight over them and the Cichlid Sticks :)

Feeder tanks in many pet shops are filthy and under horrid conditions, that is how it can easily be transfered. It stinks. I am more than happy to go to crickets, meal worms, and night crawlers. We also do silver sides (frozen).

True.... Oscars are SO hard to keep their water pristine.. .my Discus tank has < 5 Nitrates whereas the Nitrates in the Oscar tank (125 with 2 Oscars) was around 50-90 with 40% water changes sometimes 2x a week, usually 1x a week
