pink spike growing

    i dont know wat it is but it started like a sharp spike and now it growing branch kind of like a hard coral. it growing on the purple LR i bought from a local guy. he have all kind of coral too but there was no coral when he give it to my. it pink and growing bigger. i'll try to get some picture later on. also on a different rock, there is a flower like growning. it's not feather dust. it like a little red flower. it soft and move with the wave. i have no idea wat these r.

    the flower also hide like a feather dust when something come near it.

    The pink "thing" is likely just a piece of coral. The "red flower" is probably a Christmas Tree Worm.

    the flower since it's small right now could also be aptaisia...which is really bad for your system.......

    Isn't aptaisia more of an orange/brown color ?

    i just look that up and it's not aptaisia. it look like a feather duster but red or dark red and small.

    aptasia can look more red when it's small and under different lighting.....it also may look like a feather duster when small....also there are other types of glass anemones you should look it up and see what you find just in case.......
    try to take a pic of it and post it, it should help us to figure it out.

    i know what aptaisia looks like anthony....i had hundreds of them in my tank that i had to wipe out......

    do aptaisia know how to hide like the duster? because this red thing hide like the duster.

    they retract quick just like a duster....but aiptasia hides into the pores of your rock...

    wow!!! i never seen anything that can sense the flash as soon as it goes off.....i have taken a bunch of photos of everything in my tank and never had anything react like that......they usually run off after the flash.
