    so i will be buying a new small tank for my frogs today, and i might be able to turn it planted sooner than i thought

    I will and petco had a bunch of sword plants so I'll probably get those. I'm hoping that they or petsmart will have ecoearth

    Good Luck, mine doesn't. I had to order it online (but still came out cheaper that the other LFS that I frequent).

    If they don't have it would normal sand work I was thinking of using black sand like I did with my puffer

    i think they had that brand at petsmart, i asked them though about subtrate for live plants and they said they were out, but were going to have some on the shelf on friday, so i'll go see then what they have, and then buy the plants, i was only able to buy the tank today

    This is the 5g right?
    bulb incandescent? (they aren't good...higher energy & run hot to touch..plus give off a fake color in tanks that's anything BUT beneficial to anything).

    the only instructions on the light bulb is that it says to insert CFL or tubular incandescent bulb, 15 watt max

    okay, so it's an incandescent. Goto walmart or fosterandsmith online and get a compact flourescent bulb. Over a 5 you won't need much light, if you go the wal-mart route you can experiment and get a few different wattages. I'm sure your parents will find a use for the ones that didn't work somewhere in the house.

    ok, i'l try to go to walmart this weekend, hopefully on saturday, after i work so by sunday my frogs can go in it with plants. The instructions on the bulb also say to not use high intensity or halogen bulbys of any wattage as fire may result. Will the flourescent lights do this? or are they still ok to use

    oh also, i want to start cycling it with my marigold, and since i can't get the subtrate until friday should i just wait until friday to add the water

    yes, because you defin. want to pour water OVER the substrate or you'll have a complete mess!
    Place a small saucer on top of the substrate and SLOWLY pour water onto it. It will prevent the substrate from swirling up.

    ok, i'm really hoping my frogs can go in it on sunday, lol my mom is so mad that i spent 43 dollars on a 5 gallon tank :p, i personally would rather spend the money on a bigger tank, but no room, they had a 55 that i wanted that was for sale, but there would have been no way that i could afford it or have the space for it, plus my parents would seriously kick me out of the house

    yea, i forget the pricing of the complete set for a 10 but it was just slightly higher. And a 10 with just the tank was like $11

    so my mom completley ******* at me about buying the tank now. So i'm going to have to wait with the plant subtrate, light, and plants, she completley went off on me, i'm so tired of them
