4 apple snails in a 10g and platies...you must really want babies. Lol!
I have Mystery snails and those things are breeding like crazy (but I have a 90g).

    Platy/Platies

    Platies
Alrighty guys. I have two male platies in my 10 gallon. One male is picking on the other. Not really picking but showing his fins and not leaving the other guy alone.

Solution? I went out and got 3 females to help calm things down. Is this a good solution?

Also, they arent the same coloration, the two males are orange with a red tail.

    the 3 females are:
    - solid yellowish gold
    -blue, almost grey appearance body
-black body, fading into a yellow underbelly

will they breed? (probably i just want to confirm thats all!)
do you guys know the names of them so i can do some more research?

    Re: Platies

Your gonna end up with more babies than you know what to do with.

Oh, they will breed my friend.

No name needed, a platy is a livebearer..plain and simple.

Im not to worried about the babies. Im just worried about the other male.
    good fix?

Oh, and after a couple mins of research, i think i got a pretty good idea on the names of the breeds.

same as gupsters. High Female to male ratio...like 3-4 females per male to cut back aggression. Keep up with the partials (especially since it's a 10)

You made a good decision. I think I have two males in a ten gallon. Along with a female red swordtail and a black swordtail. No fry yet and i've had them for a while. No aggression in the tank though..
