I just received mail from another group showing "Baby in a Bottle" and asked to spread it around. This is insane. I sent an email to the company not threatening just info on how to properly care for a betta.
Here's the website http://www.babyinabottle.com . Please let the company know this is not how to treat any animal in a polite way of course as negativity sometimes make the person even more set in there ways. The owner was looking for 200-300 baby bettas.

My e-mail.
 This is simply appaling! Reminds me of the goldfish in the keychain idea.

what makes it worse is that people see them in the dixie cups and think that's all they require (a dixie cup of blue tainted water). No heater, barely enough space for them to turn around...just really aggrovates me to the max.

I'm once again disgusted by all the sick ideas of this kind of companies... Geez, feeding on people's lack of knowledge just to sell their products! D:
They could switch to something else, NOT animal related.

Fantastic e-mail Dawn! Thank you. I don't know about lack of knowledge but lack of scrupples yes. Some people know and will still buy this for a baby shower or something. I hope no breeder encourages this by selling 200-300 babies to this individual (I refuse to say company). Anyone know any societies in New York? Seeing that appears where this website is coming from.

>.>; so it's a beta in a tube?
Is it an actual baby beta? o.o;
I red a few of the FAQ, and it's all basic beta advice, well the advice I would expect.

Let me rephrase this, it's the common knowledge that beta's sold in pet stores often come with. Not the healthiest, but it might live this way... So yea. It's bad.

I'll fling an email to them myself in the morning.

i don't know which one is more stupid: the betta in a bottle or the goldfish in a keychain !!!
i sent off an e-mail to the betta in a bottle people, i wounder if i'll get a response of some kind ? i thought about calling the phone# and seeing if had a "complant department".
here's what i e-mailed, i kept it short and sweet:

I do not like your product or even the idea of it ! ! It's sooooo wrong on sooooo many levels. The people behind this ridiculous concept of fish keeping should've done more research on the "proper care of a betta fish".

Wow. Reminds me of the goldfish in the keychains that were posted about before.

Did you see all the stores that supposedly sell these things ?!

The FAQ's do recommend transferring the fish to a larger container as well as saying it needs to be cleaned weekly and says to use dechlored water. Not something that I would recommend but not near as bad as how they are kept in pet stores.

Really thou how many people buying this are going to read the FAQ's. In my e-mail I recommended a care sheet to be sent with each betta and maybe even finding a betta website that would allow her to publish there site on the care sheet.

whats the air system going to do for a labyrinth organ fish?

I bypassed the company, Turned the website and all locations info over to the NYASPCA and the USHS.

I wrote a good 15 minute rant to them about the treatment of these kinds of animals.

Maybe they should spend time on making a filtration system if any. Waste of breath otherwise.

I appriciate your opinion. Is there something
in our fish care section that is incorrect? If that is the case please
tell me what it is and I will fix it. How did you hear about us?

Regards,
Cathy
