Here is my new aquascape. I like it much better, looks a lot more natural. I also have a lot of rock tucked away in the back, and kind of looks cool back there. Sorry for the crappy phone pics and of the blinds being in the shot. I'll take more pictues later tonight when everything settles and with the light on

Thank you. For filterstion I have a skimmer, reef octopus bh 800s skimmer and live rock. I have a emperor 400 on the tank but I learned that HOB filters trap nitrates if not cleaned often enough. So it's just sitting there and I may turn it into a fuge

a fuge is like another natural filteration, i'm still new so i don't know a ton about it, but you put sw plants lke chateo *sp* and you can grow colonies of copepods in there as well

you can put live rocks or bioballs for beneficial bacterias I guess...
But after that are you planning to get a new filtration or live rocks and skimmer is enough? I am also a beginner and thinking to get a HOB or Canister filter for my 29gallon. As I know you need also a mechanical filtration, cause live rocksa re biofiltration and skimmer is chemical I think.

my skimmer is nothing chemcial all it is is tank water :D and i don't think i need to have any other filteration because of the amount of rock that i have plus my overrated skimmer will be able to handle it, plus i plan on having a small bioload of fish so that will help

    cool
    skimmer utilizes foam fractionation to
remove dissolved organic wastes from the water.
Air is delivered to the bottom of the tube by an external source, generating
a cloud of fine bubbles that flow to the surface. Proteins and other wastes
adhere to the bubbles, travel to the surface, and collect in a removable cup
that’s emptied. This is really just a form of chemical filtration, but unlike
other filters, wastes are actually removed from the water and not converted
    to something else.
