    here's a quick crapp video from last week. In person the firefish's purple coloring is much more purple and very pretty

    lol thanks, still battling that darn GHA though, it's going down, not as bad as it could be :) just itching to get coral

    Nobody said it would be easy....or cheap lol, but the end results if properly executed can be worth the time and money invested.

    so true! tomorrow, i'm going to do a water change and pour the water in a bucket and scrub the GHA off the rocks as best as i can, and if no GHA pops up for a week, next weekend i'll get my first coral. My tank is 4 months old now, so i think it's about time

    Congrats! Salt tanks take SO much time to set up...

    Well... so do large planted fresh tanks... :)

    thanks. and yea, salt does tank a long time to setup. And their so much more sensitive than freswhater.

    lol yea Discus care is practically just like having a sw tank :D I still wonder if their related to Tangs in some weird way, their bodys just look so similar, the care is similiar, their sensitive, both also have amazing colors

    They say that most Cichlids came from the ocean back in the day when the ocean levels were higher... the water retreated and they became landlocked and learned to care for their young to protect them from the FW fish...

    Yeah... they are so much harder to keep than you realize! Well... not hard to KEEP but to grow and breed...

    You dont even want to know... follow some of my other posts... my discus spawn... but I cant get the eggs to hatch even though they are fertile!
