Progession of a 46 gallon reef tank

    Yes it was... I have considered doing that myself minus the eel... too much tank needed for that guy!

    yea eels would be cool though, i like preditory fish :D

    Same here... remember I used to keep Oscars... I just got into expensive ones here now... BTW also Lionfish are predatory.

    lol i think the first time that i fell in love with preditory fish was when i came home after work looked in my 20 gallon tank with all of my community fish like gouramis, plattys and what not all dead with chunks bitten out of them and floating at the top of the tank, and there was this happy little puffer swimming around, and i just thought he was such a cute little killer :D

    Yeah back years ago when I started keeping Oscars, even though I am now against it I used to love dropping feeder goldfish in the tank and watching the Oscar chase it/them down and inhaling them!

    That was my first experience with HITH... So my next Oscars NEVER got feeders and also never got HITH....

    the only live food that my puffer gets is crickets for his teeth he loves to torture them, it's funny, it' really cool when you can hear them crunch when he eats it

    lol...there's no torture for crickets in with my o's and dempsey, just destruction. i quit giving crickets to them, for it was a pain in the butt to vac out body parts that didn't get eaten.

    yea, i have to have crickets around for my toads so thats why my puffer gets the big ones

    some more coralline, my skimmer arrives tomorrow and tank will be two weeks old on saturday

    Live rock is some amazing stuff! You get any surprises and or hitchhikers on it yet that you have noticed?

    thanks :D my tank probably is about half way done cycling i think i already have diatoms so that's a good sign tht i'm almost done

    got my skimmer today!!!!!!! it's the ocotopus bh 800s. I took pictures, but i won't put it up until i'm ready to add fish and i also got a piece of raw shrimp to try and make the cycling go faster
