    Tap
    PH 6.8
    GH 3dH
    KH 4dKH

    Tank
    PH 6.2
    GH 3dH
    KH 4dKH

I run about a handful of peat in my magnum 350... I have not for a while though... I think it is burned out. I do have TONS of driftwood leaching out in the tank as well as a tiny bit of peat in my Emperor filter.

I made the decision to mix my tropicals together, but I need to find home for my tiger barbs. I am taking the 52 and going all angels less cleaners and possibly blackwater. I am just worried about a few plants but I can transfer them.

Most plants dont care about the PH so much... lower ph's are not drastic enough to affect them... heat though there are many plants that will melt in the warm water... If you set your temp at 82 you should be good with almost any plant IME

im thinking light strength with the tannin rich water not penetrating enough to get any light to the bottom.

its a hex top, 52g perfecto tank.

I got two lights on there but I think since angels arent known jumpers I might just do a coralife t5ho 48" on there

Dawn considering the discus come from places where the ph is considerably lower I don't think it would hurt, if you really want the dark water.

HBIC is right, just add it slowly so the fish adjust and dont get shock/stressed over the Ph drop. Everything adapts.

I dont think its the discus that she is worried about... Probably the other tankmates and her plants...

depends on plant type and light requirements it has.
Might need to add something dependant on what type it is.

i dident notice any higher watts at the time i got them, they already grow algae like crazy, i would hate to see anything with higher wattage.
