Question Regarding UPS (uninteruppted Power Supply):

[help] Okay, just planning a bit ahead since normally it's in the summer when I experience power outtages ....but what model of UPS would best be suited to keep my equipment running? Model, Brand and Link would be most helpful in addition to how long it will keep my equipment running ;)

 Mind you I know next to nothing about these other than they are typically meant to keep computers running--hoping to find something that will keep everything running for at least 8 hours.

 And I don't want to go with a car battery (I've read where some are using a car battery configuration of some sort).

after reading, I believe what I am looking into is a standby unit.
One that will become active once the power ceases (as in power outtages).

If anyone has any other more affordable ideas that would be great too...just some advanced planning since I know we experience them here and there in the summer with everyone seemingly running ac's and what not.

A standby unit will suit your needs fine you really don't care if the power is out for a 1/2 second
Just do like we do in Florida and go whole house aux generator
Run on natural gas or LP gas only runs in outages and the once a month test.
The upside is it keeps the whole house running for as long as needed, the down side is the large one time capital out lay

the first is what I'm moreso looking for (but the 8h is out of stock)
the second is just for aeration
the 3rd from what I've read is only for vortech pumps

Thanks so much! I'll be checking back on the first one, maybe they'll get that 8h one back in ;)
