    pantyhose for a prefilter

I was wondering, can you use pantyhose to go over your intake to your filter or is there a better thing.

Yes you can. I prefer sponge though.

I second what Anthony has said, I've done the pantyhose method and the pre-filter sponge method. I personally like the pantyhose since they are cheaper and if you get the black ones they blend in nicely with the equipment. Lol!

I think pantyhose is too fine, for my liking anyway.

Really? did you double them (layers) over the intake and zip tie it? I'm using them on the emperor 400 and I'm quite pleased so far.

*Shrugs* I've never actually used it. :) Having seen pantyhose before it looks like it would trap everything before it could enter the filter itself.

LMdao! Nah. the plants stick to the outter part for easy removal...the food particulate does go through them as expected...and I have yet to see a fish penetrate them. It's like the condom of the fishworld I swear. Haha!

Oh okay. :) I'm not about to run out and buy any pantyhose so I'll stick to the sponge method, it's far less embarrassing.
