    Blue German Rams?
I was wondering if anyone here has ever owned blue german rams before? I saw some today at a LFS and was wondering how they act with other fish, and just a general idea as to the care for them? They have some amazing markings/ coloring!

I've had them before, and someone else on the forum did as well. They aren't easy to keep. They require soft acidic water and from my experience will not survive in hard water for more than a few weeks.

Correct Anthony.... they make great tankmates for Discus and Angelfish for those reasons! Noshow Discus had gotten a few of them when he helped me get my sunsets and kept them with his Discus.

Following what Discus like and what I have heard about them.

-Set your water Acidic (I do this with API Proper PH 6.5 as this does Dechlorinate)
    -Increase water temp ABOVE 80
-<soften the water> Add "Blackwater Extract" to your water - If you dont want to buy this stuff all the time the BEST thing to do is add peat to your filter where you normally put your carbon! Best of all the peat is cheaper than Blackwater Extract and lasts about a month regardless of water change amount.

Doing these things will give you soft acidic water!

Just "Blue Ram" or "German Blue Ram" usually.
