Really, a Penguin 350 ? Any specific reason for that model ? Just because of the bio wheel feature ?

i started my saltwater 46 gal. with two of them because one of my connects told me it would be enough with the skimmer and it worked out great!!!! never had a problem at all......so i'll always recommend that model to anyone starting a small saltwater.

Big Al's has that filter for 33 dollars.

Have you heard anything about Rena's new HOB filters ?

Oh okay. Yeah, it is a bit expensive. If I was going to spend that much on a HOB I'd get more AC 110's.

I may buy it from Petsmart just to see how it is. That way I can return it.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to order online so I can place the order tonight to have everything by Friday.

So far I've got two Hydor Koralia Nano's, the 350B Filter, and a Visi-Therm heater.

I'm looking at them now. I've never used one before so I really don't know what I'm looking at. The HOB skimmers... They're an all in one unit correct ? The pump is on there and everything ?

How about something like this ? I can clearly see from the picture it includes the pump.

    np anthony!!!
the koralia 1's are nice.....maybe 2 put one on the top of the side glass to blow through the front and one in the back low to mid to flow through the back.......
don't forget a heater if you don't have one......
and if your filters and you should be all set for now.....

I'm scared to use the Koralia 1's. They're rated at 400 GPH and with a 30 gallon long I just picture everything being blown all over the tank. :)

And you're sure the cord is on the outside of the tank, right ? I've never seen one in person so I can only go by that picture and it doesn't show a cord anywhere.

i once heard the more flow the better, the reef is loaded with strong waves.....i have over 2,500 gph of flow in my tank. 2 in the back and 2 in front. actually the cord goes inside on the koralias....the pumps your thinking of .....which i just forgot the name.....go for about $700 ea.
as soon as i find the link i'll send them to you. the good thing about the koralias is that they will never move from where you put them becayse the magnet is very strong.....

Oh okay. If they're 700.00 each I won't be buying one. LoL

I just found that the EcoTech Marine VorTech Pump is magnetic with the cord on the outside of the tank.
