Red Cherry Shrimp (Compatibility and Advice)

Red Cherry Shrimp (Compatibility and Advice)

So after i added the endlers and shrimp, the tetras were literally hunting them so the 4 endlers were hiding under the moss, i took the tetras back to petco(i realized i didnt have enough of them to school happily) and i was able to trade them for 6 Neon tetras. As of now the Endlers and neons are swimming together in a pretty tight group, Very happy. =)

also the shrimp look like there doing good, mostly hanging around on the wood picking at the algae i presume.

Thank you for the help ;)

Your welcome. I know when I had mine they loved hiding in the Moss balls you can get at petco for like $6...those things grew beasty under my high lighting and were the size of softballs in less than 2 months!

Glad to hear all is working out well for you. Neons are really gorgeous in large groups!

not true..I always saw juvi's in the tank. Yes, I know most were possibly eaten..but it was still easy to ascertain the juvis from the adults.

yea POSSIBLE but needs tons of small hiding places and sinking food since tetras are fast and small it can out swim a small shrimp fry

oh defin tetras are super fast. hence I had moss balloon balls that were the size of softballs for them to hide in..not including bottom plants at the time..right now I'm re-building the plant status due to the hubby cleaning mishap. I have barely any shrimp left now as a result!

Once everything is good to go, hopefully this summer I'll contact the guy I deal with for more.

very interesting, informative thread. it's gotten me to think about tetras and shrimp when i redo my 38. we hit some tough financial bs, so my tanks won't be satisfactory for a while. but it also gives me more research time and planning, which is always fun! the platy fry are growing nicely. we have 12 survivors and they are adorable!

question about ghost shrimp as feeders

We have a brackish tank with a goby eel, knight goby, and figure eight puffer, will these guys eat the ghost shrimp? We are hoping they will.
Anyone know of any other live things any of these guys will eat?
