Those plecos, how big do they get? And for my pleco-aholic friend in my local forum, what's their L number?

nice looking projects, but just curious as to how you're gonna get to that a/c to clean the filter and remove it during the winter? LoL

    Nice corner tank.

same idea I had, paint match the stand to the actual room. same grey and white too.

Im with ya on the M story.
Where I used to work I kept these
    ai40.tinypic.com_9i9ugl.jpg
    ai41.tinypic.com_k19ft2.jpg
and some good size 'eye all northern illinois natives.
    ai39.tinypic.com_qsjhih.jpg

I was banned for arguing with a mod there and the keeping of big fish in large tanks but I guess I was disrespectful when I told the guy he didnt know his bung from a hole in the ground.

as you can tell on the stand.
    ai43.tinypic.com_2zzojk7.jpg

and as far as your corner tank stand goes, what is holding it together in the top front on the 45 degree piece? I didnt put doors on my stand due to the support issue with the weight of the tank.

haha yeah the M's are not going to last long with their attitude over there the frame is held together with triple 2x4 every 6" all the way around the homerun design was cut out of 3/4" ply 2x one on the top under the tank and one on the bottom to spread the weight well. then there are 4 kicker 2x6 about a foot long angle cut and screwed to the braces down to the 3/4 ply on the ground for more support its able to hold a VW on that stand as you can see here

My stand can hold 3500lbs. its all 2x4 construction, with 1/4" ply for front and side panels and 3/4" with 1/2" insulation sheathing under it.

As you can see I had to add support for side to side/ front to back motion on mine due to its simple shape.

What I find amazing is how light-weight the stronger home made stands are as opposed to particle board stands that you buy as ensembles.

I agree with the M, and their sister outfit.
Awesome tanks I wish I had the room but for now we dont, next house you bet there will be a 500-1000g cylindericle tank in the middle of my man room. No salt yet.

I love FW rays but have absolutely no way to house them the way they should be.

Also the 2nd pic the shims are gone, I replaced them with full squares of tile, some spots 2 tiles thick + shim. Bad part of building on a cement floor you paid to have leveled when the tile went down but didnt notice till we put furniture on that part.

You must live on a slab foundation.

Nice tanks, I don't understand the bashing of "M" and it's sister sites though, I am a member on both and love both sites.
