    I purchased this earlier this week. Since I removed my Protein Skimmer I had a film on the surface of the water and I was looking for a way to remove it without putting the skimmer back on the tank.

    I'm really impressed with this little filter. It totally eliminated the film on the surface of the water. I've also noticed an improvement in water clarity. The filter came with carbon and mini bio balls. I removed both of these and put Purigen in the bottom, then filter floss, and a coarse filter pad on top.

    Overall this is a great little filter. ;) Had I not already had two Rena SmartFilters on my tank I would probably purchase two more for my tank.
