I've only used this filter on my tank for a few hours but already I'm pretty impressed with it. The filter pad has a coarse side and a fine side to trap large and small particles. In front of that is what they call BioScrubbers, which are basically little circular areas to allow beneficial bacteria to colonize. It's pretty quiet, especially compared to the AC110 which has a tendency to rattle with the top on it. The extensions that come with the filter provide enough length to tall tanks.

Overall I really like this filter so far and would definitely recommend it.
