This is a matter of opinion question but I am looking to get the most bang for my buck when it comes to lighting for my 55 gal. I have heard that I will need 2 watts per gallon to house medium to high light need plants. I would like to use,

    Baby Tears
    Cabomba Purple
    Hornwort
    Wendtii, Bronze
    Micro Sword Narrow Leaf

    Any ideas??

I use T5's on my planted tank. It all depends on the plants you choose and their lighting requirements.

Coralife, Nova Extreme and Current USA are all good lighting brands.

Coralife is the name of most of my light fixtures.

1-2 watts per gallon is low light set up.
