    One of my male endler's has what looks to be a hole in his gut. Every so often he shakes mater from it, I guess it's his digested food?

    Other than this, he is doing fine. He's a young male, and he's one of the ones I got in the male. I only just noticed it a few days ago. Any ideas or suggestions?

    What are they kept with ? Is it possible another fish took a bite out of him ? If not then it could be a bacterial infection that has eaten through him.

    It's just them and some shrimp. The shrimp are too small to hurt them, and besides are too "peaceful".
    An infection could be it. But, why just him?

    Do you think I should remove him? Aside from the hole he acts like nothing's wrong o.o;

    I would remove him simple because you (we) don't know exactly what it is yet. It could be that he was just a weak fish and got the infection or it could be something contagious that just hasn't worked it's way to another fish yet. Do you have another tank you can use and try and treat him with Pima/Melafix ?

    I do, but it currently houses my blue crayfish.... So.... He would get eaten XD
    I could set up a jar or something for him tho.... I guess I'll do it in the morning, right before feeding. I've been staring at the others. No sign of anything. I might ask the guy I bought the fish from, maybe he knows something?

    I fellow from aquabid XD

    Other than an infection, is there anything else we (you) can think of? Mayhaps it's a defect ant that really is where his digestive tract ends? o.o; I'm gunna fish him out in the morning and take a good look.

    That's really the only thing I can think of off hand.

    No, another guy.... *does some digging* Cincycichlids, and I think they may descended from the swampriver guy, but not sure...

    Well, I contacted him. If I figure something out I'll share it. If now, then well shoot. I'm hoping it's nothing, but I'm worried about all the other little guys.... Any myself, I've got a terrible parasite phobia! X3

    Still no word yet.
    I bought some Tiger Endlers from them and I just happened to ask the right question and they sent the Black bars for 2 usd a fish. No extra shipping or anything =P

    I can't catch the problem male. He's too fast and my net's too big XD

    Nope. I gave him a treatment of methyln blue when I got him out.
    It's odd. I mean, I'm not sure he's sick o.o; He acts just fine, showing off for the girls and everything. A fish with a small hole in him should, you know, act sick? Heck, he's one of the healthiest ones! WTF?

    Well, I dropped him back into the tank. He's already back in the game, looks better than the other males too. So, we call this case closed.
