water changes and filter maintenance and was getting attacted by one of my albino oscars while trying to clean the 15og , he didn't like the siphon tube in the tank and the fact that i was using it to flatten out the pile of gravel that he had made.

usually it's the tiger oscar you've got to be cautious with. he's caught me off guard a few time and nipped me pretty good, hasn't broke any skin yet but sure did leave "his mark". lol
got some more fish, 3 ablino cory cats, 4 red wag platy, 3 long-finned black skirt tetra.

my oscars decided that they would rearrange the tank. they made about a 6 -7 inch deep pile of gravel on top of the air stone and pulled out the air hose. went out and got some 3/16 inch of clear hard plastic tubbing, hooked up to the air stone and ran it along the bottom of the back glass and up the corner and hooked up some air hose to the air pump. we'll see how this works out.

Me thinks someone's pulling yer leg buzz... ;)

Tis a perfect day to change out gravel and replace with sand. A certain online fishy place had Eco-Complete sand on sale with free shipping. I bought more than I need and saved a bundle. Ho Ho Ho

How much are you looking at spending? I bought an Ebo Jager 300w for a 125 back in the spring of 2012. I used it up until June, and it's sitting in a drawer doing nothing. ( New fishroom is heated, and I have about 50 heaters collecting dust )...interested?

yes, i would be interested, but the shipping is the drawback. i've found several good deals on-line, but when you add in shipping, might as well go to the lfs and get one.

Water changes and filter maintenance. My 8yr old son got to do his 1st solo water change/gravel vac & rearranged the decor on the 20g today. He was really excited about it. I tried to get him to do the 150g, but he didn't want to because he didn't want to get bit by the oscars. LoL

He's been bit by the oscars before, while I was doing a gravel vac, he was to net out uneaten food and any other floaties and wasn't paying attention and got his finger bit.
He did a really good job on the 20g, he moved the decor to do a good gravel vac. I still had to "coach" him some, but for the most part, he did it himself. I added the amquel+ and set the temp on the water and he filled it back up, plugged the heater & filter in.

Yes we do. He's really starting to show some good interest in the fish hobby. He really likes it when we go to buy new fish, the hard part about though is that when he wants a fish that's not compatible with the ones that we have and explaining it to him so he understands and if there's one that I know little/nothing about that we won't get it until I do some research first. He's all ready ask about having his own tank.
