    changed substrate from gravel to sand...thx to all the pictures of sand aquarium you guys posted! haha water's a little cloudy but will do water change tomorrow

    it will settle in a few hours. what type of sand did you use? (pool, caribsea?)

    just a bulk silica sand that they had at the local big al's...play sand offered here was treated with chems...it it mostly settled now except at the top

    removing 3 of the 5 silver hatchets that someone in the tank was messing with (blames the oddball xipho sword thingy)
    dosing and feeding as usual
    waiting on my plants to arrive today!

    removed the limia sp tigers and the Xiphophorus Montazume for fin nipping to the point of killing my new silver hatchetfish..if anyone's interested in them give me a shout! They'll be listed in the trading post section.

    flushed one of my silver dollars cause the catfish bit him and he was swimmin sideways on top for two days, then stopped but was breathing.

    did a 30% wc dosed with my new bottle of prime, added some more bottom gravel, rearanged some plants, gravel vacumed, fed fish, added some roots I got at petmart, there a plant that is guaranteed to grow in any water conditions, up to 12" and blossom with white and pink blooms, sounds like a gimic but ill give it a try, it was only 3 bucks for like 7 root balls, they sapossedly anchor thmselves in the gravel and grow really good, so well see.......

    Another 60% WC on the 125
    rearranged my 125
    mixed the pea gravel and sand in the 125 (they were layered)

    90% WC on the 5 gal QT bucket and re-treatment of metro

    Finally got some time to do my 50% water change. I've been doing morning doses of Excel (30ml) in the tank. Plant growth has exploded due to it !

    added 5 tiger barbs and built a cave, I caught a guy at walmart stocking these little baby tiger barbs, a little smaller than a dime, now id never buy fish from walmart, but they looked so healthy and I knew they would just rot away in a plain, overstocked, glass cube, so I snagged 5 of them before they even got dumped in the rancid water, I felt bad knowing the conditions they were going to live in, plus the list of there tank mates were pretty much my entire community setup, mollies(1), plattys(4), and clown loachs(1) the only thing else i have that they didnt mention was my cory, but i think he will be fine, the tiger barbs are so awsome, they are all schooled up in such a tight bunch, they love the heavily weeded side of the tank I have, and there color has already brightened up, they looked almost ghostish/clear at the store, now there are orange/shiny and really having fun fighting over the food I just dropped in, I snapped a few pictures of the tank since I removed the stupid white "ruins" structure i had, now I built a new cave out of stone and slate that the clown loach took over as his new sleeping hut, ill post the pictures in the freshwater pic topic if anyone cares

    Another 50% WC on the 125
    90% WC on the bucket and another Metro treatment

    Trying to figure out what to do with the sick fish and the breeding pair.... need more tanks! :)
