what are you doing today that is tank related?

tied moss to the little cave in the downstairs 10g & added the mineral rock for the shrimpy to it also.

Dosing the 90g with pimafix & melafix....pleco didn't fit in the one cave and kept forcing his way in there (scaled looked whitish and like they were peeling due to it) & 1 discus had a scratch from lord knows what!
Dosed last night and BOTH are already looking better!

 

Cleaned my two filters and replaced purigen.

 

Bought a 29 gal bow front with a topfin 60 filter with stand and tons of extras only 6 months old for $50 off craigslist yesterday . Also have the 55 resealed and holding water. The option now with 2 empty tanks, The 55 is going to be planted so looking in forums for subst options. Water changes on 10 & 20 gal,

 

planted go with eco-complete (looks like dirt, don't have to pre-rinse, and doesn't muck with your water parameters)

Sitting here staring at the 90g resisting the urge to prune back the cabomba, Hornwort, and some of the limey green striated plant that I can't remember the name of.

 

I bought a piece of Drift wood and boiled it today too. It's now in my 40 gallon with some bits of Java Moss tied to it.
I searched desperately for pure endler's livebearers. Same results as the rest of the week. Won some nice Hybrids on aquabid tho =D And I ordered some from the local pet shop. Cross your fingers for me =D

Some where along the road I had forgotten about useing salt in my tanks. So I got some and added it in with the regular 10% water change I do when I add something new to the tank. (Fish included)

 

water changes and filter maintenance. had to do an extra cleaning on the 125g due to my two boys decided to give the oscars and jd some grapes and they (fish) really made a mess with th grapes. took the female out of the african tank and put her in the fry tank until we can get another tank for her, she's been getting harassed too much lately.

just finished a partial on the 90g and downstairs 10g and scraping both the inside glasses to remove any gsa that I noticed.
Also dosed the 90g with Seachem Iron.

The upstairs will have to wait as the inhabitants will be removed in the next day or two (still deciding who goes where).

switched places with the moneywort & P. Cabomba, Pruned the P. Cabomba and replanted the clippings.

 

Just finished the last two tanks...shew having ten tanks to care for not to mention the snakes, mice, turtle, rat, cats, gecko and dog is taking a toll....but I love it.

 

Well tore apart 2 old computers and rebuilt. Up and running again and didn't spend a penny. Now comes the water changes in 3 tanks.

 

Re-working the top of the 55 gal NPT. Think I'm going to leave it as an open top and from ceiling to tank hang material to hide lighting and mechanics. HHMMMMM me and my ideas!

 

Just got some Endler's in the mail.... Found out the seller didn't use salt in his tanks, so lets hope I don't put them into shock =(

Later, going to the pet store for a few more things I didn't grab last time.. And I ordered male endler's from the supplier. I'll see what They look like, if I like what I see, I'll keep them.

 

Cleaning and getting ready to install a new holding tank for the Ro mix.

Just got a nasty pond snail out of the tank and cant find the assassins I put in there....... I hate snails like these with a passion and only makes life difficult. Guess I am going to have to figure a way to trap em.

Going collecting for DW,bones and rocks today with the kids.

 

Raised my tank temp up to 86 and separated my male and female Endler's into separate breeding areas.

 

Moved two Discus out of quarantine into the Discus tank.
