Be careful I could link you to MANY forums where people are complaining that the new stealths with the lighted dials are wreaking havoc and exploding like crazy.

Check out these pics posted on another forum by a guy who's heater exploded in his tank. Try doing a google search for "visi therm explodes" and see all the people who are talking about it happening, just a warning for the future.

I glad I don't need heaters for the most part. Every now and again you are going to have a glass tube heater overheat an rupture. I looked and couldn't find a recall on the Marineland Stealth heaters, but it took Corallife 2 years to fix the problems with the Coralife Aqualight Power Center/Light Timer starting fires so I guess we wait and see

I checked for info on a recall too..I read a few sites that said there was one, but I couldn't find any?

I have two of these heaters (they aren't glass...more like a molded thermal plastic so I'm really shocked they broke like that in the photo)...mine have been running awhile now without issue, but I'm starting to wonder how long it took for the heaters to explode? I mean was it right away, or was it after months of use...and were they out of water at the time of explosion and plugged in/not plugged in (like when your doing a partial) or were they completely submerged?

Please, if anyone hears about a recall post it or pm me.
    Thanks in Advance!

There have been no recalls that I know of yet, but many are saying that they are either exploding or failing by either get stuck on or stuck off. The type that you are talking about Dawn are the types that are failing.

I changed out lights on the 52g and threw a 36" T5HO twin 39w 6700K on it, 6" short on each side but have low light stems there anyways. cleaned the canister filter, and all sponges......let the water clear up came back to see this......

Added an extra hour onto the light timer. Think that puts the tank up to 15 hours of light a day.
