what are you doing today that is tank related?

won an auction on aquabid for 2 books from oddball's in PA.

got the rams in the 210....thinking about getting rid of 20+ crypts and going for some true amazonia stream plants. I dont mind if they grow out of the top of the tank.

Oh helpful advice for this thread.....wear a mask when sick while working on an aquarium, a sneeze is not good at all, it messes with their feeding schedule.

 

what good books did you get from them? (that's the pet store I deal with...that are qt my discus).

I'm jealous on all the rams you have (wish I could have a bunch, but I'd worry about them scrapping).

filling up the milk gallons I let the water for my tank (sense two of them broke) wondering if keeping fish water in a milk gallon is a good idea(the've been rinised out so many times..) and looking at hortwort online for my platy tank once I get it all set up, and feeding Ruby little piggy.... course Dory ,my smallest ATTACKS her pellets it's like watching a oscar eat live food!

 

Today I'll change the water in both of my tanks, and I just fed my goldfish with some soaked tubifex cubes They eat them like candy!

Water change and cleaning out the filters some.
I discovered that I have a few hundred Triops hatchin outside o.o; Forgot that they were still out there, and it rained. lol. Looks like I get to play with Triops again =3

 

50% water change on the 20 and a 80% on the 10 then dosing the tanks with Excel and Trace Elements. Think I'll put a few small pieces of wisteria in the 20 for fry cover.

 

I spread out the italian vals more...removed a good bit of the green striated plant...added Baylees four leaf clovers and Kleiner Bar Swords and will clean the filters in a bit.

 

I pick up a 49 gal bow tank full saltwater set up plus 60 lbs live rock

 

cleaned filters, scraped walls, did partials on both tanks. Just finished

 

cheacking my paypal balance to see if I can buy a tank that's on sale and finished cleaning my room haven't done that sense school started... need it clean so I have room for a fish tank

 

deciding when to go get my discus today, checked the paypal balance yesterday and found $15 from bigcrumbs and $5 from
beruby...which means $20 worth of fishy things. haha!

Trying to count Endler fry. I noticed quite a few swimming around today. I also bumped my temp up to 86 from 80.

Now have a total of 5 tanks running in my room. And They said I couldn't fit anymore in here =3
If I got some more 10 gallons I actually have room for 2 more on the dresser I have the three 10's and the 3 gallon on. I could also add an equal number of 3 gallons >.>; But I don't have the money to pay for any more electricity than I already use XD



Thinking of doing an excessive cull of my less than standard males. I have some in the "Pure Endler" tank that look like trash. Weak colors, inconsistent markings, what dorsals. Likely poorly maintained hybrids that I got suckered into buying. But, then again, I can try to salvage the bloodline. Not sure why, but it wasn't till today I really noticed how bad they look. Might be Dawn's Male out showing them? lol
Meh. We shall see.

Only dosing and feeding today. Stood there and watched the new fry adventure out into the open waters for food. I hope they don't get too adventurous and swim over to the filter intake.
