Found a bigger tank on craigslist for cheap that I may or may not be able to fix. I haven't even got my new light in yet...

Water changes and feeding the snakes. My 6.5 foot boa is becoming a bit harder to handle as she gets larger and LARGER!!!

maybe...at the time there was only a glass tetra though. When the neons disappeared, I put in the barb and the danio, since they have to get out of my Dempsey tank eventually anyway. Could a glass tetra eat four neons? I checked the surrounding floor, too, but I have cats so they may have eaten them if they jumped out.

Even if they were dead, would neons fit through the filter intake?

As for my day, I discovered that my heater isn't working properly. I also came to the realization that I probably should have waited to buy plants until my new strip light arrived.

no sign of the tetras, in the filter or anywhere. I can only assume they jumped out and my kitties got them (or perhaps even "fished" them out through the hole in the lid, since the tank isn't that high up). I have now covered the hole with double sided sticky tape (my cats' nemesis), and hopefully no more mysteries.

Simply feeding this morning, hoping if I feel a bit better to net the excess bloodworms from the 20g (their appetite always decreases when they are caring for a spawn), and quite possibly using my handy dandy toothbrush (new one set aside just for the tanks) and brushing the diatoms off the heater in the discus fry section of the 90g.

Besides that...goal has been set to do filter maintenance (xp4's) by the middle of this month and then to repeat just before leaving for vacation.

8/4 set up the 29g for the breeding angels

8/5 removed and reset up a 75g for a customer. went from chunk rock with dead potted plants to a full on planted tank. Rehomed a 17" common pleco out of that tank to a 650g tank last night at my buddies shop.(he keeps monsters)

8/6 tearing down the 45H nuking it, setting it back up BB for a fry grow out.

Just feeding everyone. I've been on Swordtail fry watch for the past couple days. The largest female's gestation period is so unpredictable.

Turns out that the heater probably wasn't broken, it's just my room during the day. I'll start running the fan again. Didn't think it was that hot, but the thermometer on my empty 10 gallon said it was. Upon inspection of the heater, I found a hairline crack, so it's a good thing I replaced it anyway.

I found another major problem though. The tank isn't level. I swear to God it was a year ago, but the water level's higher in the front than the back. I'm guessing I'm going to have to empty it completely and figure out a way to make it level again.

Oh. Also the plants I ordered came yesterday. I soon discovered that

    1. I got A LOT of plants

    2. Planting stem plants is a pain in the ass

    3. I didn't have enough substrate.

    and

    4. All the thread in the house has at least some polyester in it.

Measuring it, it's about an eighth of an inch off...maybe a quarter. Do I need to drain the tank?
