Just feeding today. Trying to do a head count on the new pleco additions to make sure I didn't lose any overnight.

Did a 50% water change with filtered water from my new hose carbon filter. Yay.

Killed my stealth heater somehow too. Now I have a huge ugly 300watt Aqueon heater in the tank for now.

All the plecos survived the night and have been going to town on the algae and driftwood.

Just did a 5 gallon water change on the Swordtail tank while vacuuming the substrate. These ammonia machines (plecos) can really poop ! I can see a decrease in algae though, so that's good.

Another water change today. Lost a Clown Pleco over night for some reason. The others seem fine and are eating algae like crazy while explains the ammonia spike in my tank.

Everyone is breathing heavily. I increased the tank temp to 86 because one pleco has what looks like ich. I should have known though, they came from Pet Forum.

Ended up trying some ich med for the first time in my fish keeping life. It says raising the temp isn't necessary but I'm keeping it at 86 for today then will drop it tonight.

watch with the ich medicine (I know at my lfs they claim their not good to use with Plecos for some reason or another). I know when I had the bristlenose colony I used Pima Fix, Mela Fix with no negative effects.

Divided the babies, put some new photos of them all in the trading post section...highly doubt any will be left after today(besides the few I decided to keep to see what color they turn into).

Yeah, I'm keeping an eye on the plecos but they seem to be fine so far. It did say to use a half dose with scaleless fish but I did a full dose. I figured with that and the heat it should be cleared up pretty fast so it would be less stressful on the fish.

that's the whole reason I'm afraid to add anything else to my tank (fear of ich and similar nasties)... I have the 36w Coralife Turbotwist UV that I run constantly on the 1 XP4- but I just don't know how much that protects you?!?

-Pushed myself to scrape most of the inside tank glasses clean, fed the fry frozen decap. brine to give parents a bit of a reprieve, fed everyone else Bloodworms & a bit of NLS Optimum freshwater flakes.

Ich doesn't worry me too much. I've never had any problems getting rid of it (knock on wood). Normally I turn on the tank temp when putting new fish in anyway, this time I forgot though.

Just finished a 50% partial on the 90g, aim to clean the filters tomorrow...in addition to ordering Prime (ran out) & looking up UV Bulbs for the sterilizer (trying to get ahead on everything BEFORE going away).

I do ship, but what I have right now aren't big enough yet. Will be a couple more months. Don't need to pm, I charge $6.00 each on the longfins plus shipping.
