scraping the inside glass on the 90g, replanting a melon sword that the discus decided to evict from the spot I planted it in, and tossing some leaves off the melon sword that I had to replant...yea, I broke a few.

Ended up heading up to Uncle Ned's today and got a young yellow Altolamprologus calvus. I can't wait to see what it looks like when the little guy gets a little bigger and gets more of it's coloration (could be a while...lol).

I had driftwood in with my cherry shrimp & yellows and experienced no negative effects, haven't tried mopani..but can't see how it'd be any different since many use it in aquariums too.

checking on the status of my pre-ordered discus.
Looks like they should be here wednesday! Yay!
Hans wanted to wait until after the chaos of the holidays (which is completely understandable when you think of the mail carriers).

I really wanted another Calvus for my cichlid collection, so I went back to Ned's and bought an Ink Fin lol Also a friend of mine has a huge school of Demasoni, so I took a male and some babies from him to reduce his stock and to see how they interact with other cichlids. So far me Afra Cobue is chasing him around, and the babies are in a 10 gallon. Beautiful fish!

water changes and filter maintenance. my a/c 110 was making some noise (which is driving me nuts) so i decided to tear it down and clean it (which needed done anyway) and found that one of the fins on the impeller is broken off, replaced the impeller and now it's nice and quite.

Picking up a used 29 gal tank and all supplies including 2 powerhead, heaters, glass covers, decorations, gravel, light and stand for $30.00. Gotta love craigslist [icon_razz.gif]. Stripping a femle Cyp.Tricolor. Moving out a couple of ten gallon tanks and putting in 2 thirty gallons. Getting fish ready for the swap next Sunday. After that is done I will feed the fish and go to bed. The life of a guy with a hobby.

Water change on the Swordtail tank. Holidays sure do take the energy out of you. So glad they're over with so I can get back to the normal maintenance routine.

after supper will be partials on the 90g and 20g...filters are supposed to be done, but waiting since I'll be temp. breaking the 90g down to redo it. Hoping supplies will be in next week and I can sucker the hubby into helping since I definately can't move the aquarium once it's empty by myself.

Picked up a 29g tank today at petco. They are doing the $1 a gallon sale, and I couldn't pass it up. Now to figure out what I'm going to put in it..... Any suggestions? lol

20g partials, divider placed for discus young, and cursing at the glass canopy that I had in the up position and came crashing down when I left the room- shattered needless to say. Ugh!
... Blasted Discus young are picking on the adults in the 90g- MAJOR no no..so my quick fix for now is to put them in the 20 until I figure out what to do with them.

90g partials, and removed all the discus young that I came across...dosed the tank with Melafix, but only had enough for 1 dose so we'll see what that will do for the adults that were pecked upon.

Woo Hoo...this New Year is off to a bleep of a start!
