    Dealing with a fish crisis.
90g 50% partial and 4x's the prime dose. Discus acting off...trying to keep 1 fin clamped...producing extreme amounts of slime in reaction to something?...spoke with lfs and believed a burst of something went through the water lines when I did yesterdays partial.

Hoping they'll perk back up soon. And of all days, the day my kid gets his wisdom teeth out...what a freaking way to start the new year. ugh!

(water tested and all parameters are normal-Liquid Api Freshwater Tests...with a teeny elevation of ammonia.....
    Temp 85.5F, Ammonia barely .5, nitrate 5.0, nitrite 0)

Going down to set up my 125 that has been sitting there since October. Might have to rebuild the stand. Not sure if I like the one that was built for me. Got to strip some Cyp Tricolors and some Ventralis today.

pulled the uv sterilizer off (lamp needs replaced & what better time than this to rinse the unit out), took the 1W lunars off, pulled the hoses off the 1 xp4 & the uv which was running off it to give them a good rinse & will be pulling the substrate tomorrow!

    thus far,
All decor (minus driftwood) have been diluted bleach soaked..prime soaked..and air dried.

I think I might take a ride to the pet store to see what they have. I could use some more fish in the tank.

Topped off the Endler tank with fresh water and dosed the Swordtail tank with Excel. Also gave the Endler's Better Than Brine food today.

getting ready to pull the substrate outta the 90g and being totally grossed out by my hubby whose just informed me that somehow during the morning one of the yoyo loaches in the 20g managed to get out and my dog ate it (mind you the tank has a glass canopy and a plastic strip that fits tightly around the filters). Talk about your gross factor!

Okay, now I have to ask..what does a fish freak party entail?

Will be taking the 10g back down and cleaning the equipment used on it (back to the attic it goes).
Hoping to have enough energy left over to clean up the 20g!

PWCs and gravel cleaning on the 10 and 38 gallon tanks. Scrubbing the algae on the big tank again. Think I have just about got it under control. <knock on wood>

A fish freak party is having 10 or so people over who are into tanks from the Richmond area to show off tanks and have a fish swap party. Set up the 33L as a floating tank with air stones for the bags. Having Chili and spaghetti. I general fish fun. Spouses are welcomed to start a support group for loved ones addicted to tanks! LOL

Very cool way to have a party. I might have to try that up here. Today I bagged 35 bags of fish for a swap meet in Milwaukee Wi tomorrow. I won't get much sleep because I still have to bag 7 large fish tomorrow and leave by 7am for a 1 1/2 hour drive.

Hopefully adding some new fish to the tank. PetSmart didn't have anything so today I'm running to the other store close by to see what they have. Other than that, feeding and dosing with Excel.

Went to swap today sold everything but six bags of fish. Now i have to put those fish back in the tank. Plus my wife picked up 5 angels for her tank and they were raised in RO water so i am slowly acclimate them very slowly to my water. Lost one before i got home but the others are doing well.

got a huge holey rock at auction 16x10x9 that has great character. Also received plant tabs, 7 red platies med size diftwood with base, guppy grass, neat home made cave. Magnetic algae cleaner and a 2 gal betta hex tank. Not bad for a trade auction.

I like the holey rock! I think it's awesome in shrimp setups too (cherry shrimp, etc) as they love to climb on it and through the holes. I was actually considering using two pieces of it and placing slate over the top to make a diy cave..but the shipping (due to weight) was a killer and the prices at the lfs are totally out of hand.

Which tank are you using it in?

    >Have to find the mojo to clean the 20L and break down/clean the 10g for storage, might try putting the breeding pair into the 90g again to give it once last shot as I'd really love to use the 20g for something else. Couple more hours and it'll be feeding time.
