well i just f'd over with the lid of the tank. I was looking at it to see how the opening of the back of the tank is and i was about to put it back on the tank, and it slipped out of my hands and it fell to the bottom of the tank and shatterd to a million pieces so far i only see one scratch on the bottom of the tank so i pray that it's not fully cracked. and will still work

You wouldn't be able to use the hood anyway.

and that's what i figured after i had looked at it. I was just more worried about the tank itself then the glass top

It should be fine. The glass on the bottom of the tank is usually tempered.

That has an internal pump which is good. It looks like it may be a good option.

yay lol something in my price range! I know it would be better if i were to get the remora aqua protein skimmer or whatever it is but since i will be spending about $400 on just the ligthing i will need to get cheaper brands on other stuff so it looks like the ligthing will be the most expensive thing i will have to buy :D

i hope the coralife will be better than my seacolne, i really hate that skimmer it's so touchy and i have issues with it not working properly by not skimming even though it's creating bubbles and stuff but it had gone with like at least a week at a time without anything in the cup

with these two being similar would it be worth the extra money to get the coralife or stick with seaclone, the seaclone seems to do a decent job when it does work, im just not sure with me having a larger tank if i should upgrade to something better even though i can't afford an expensive one

Yes, they are really similar. I would try to use the Seacone first. Keep in mind after setting up the tank it should take a good week or so of it running before you start to seeing foam in the cup.

ok lol that should make my parents happy as well, as that would be one less thing that i would have to buy. When i do set up the tank for cycling would i need to use the seclone on the tank during that time, or should the live rock take care of everything, since my puffer would be using the secolone on his 20 gallon until he gets moved to the 47

The live rock won't remove what the protein skimmer does. When you put the live rock into the tank move the skimmer to it. Your rock will have some die off and the skimmer will help remove that from the water in the beginning.
