what is media & how does it work?

    Media???
    Maybe im just missing this, but what is it? I know that it filters out things for canister,but is it a sponge or what and how does it work???

    Media can be several different things. Sponges, bio balls/rings and pads are just a few. It is basically what takes the larger particles out of the water and gives a place for the bacteria to grow.
