Once again research, research, research any and all fish BEFORE you buy them.

usually I'm pretty good about researching fish before I buy them. This was just kind of one of those "hey, the guy says this fish will be ok, I want something different and a little more aggressive, and he is really cool looking" type of things. As for owning a species only tank, that really doesn't bother me too much being that I wanted a SA red tailed eventually anyways, and even though he's not a SA, at least with this one I'll be able to afford a large enough tank for him. I'll try to get a good pic of him today and I'll post it in the photography section.

Broke down and bought a blue crayfish for some reason, I am not really sure where I am going to put him, right now I am thinking about throwing him in with my africans, I also added three yellow barbs to my planted tank.

I had a blue crayfish in with my africans when I had them in the past, they killed him despite numerous hiding places throughout the tank. He was fairly nice size too & the majority of the africans were under 3" .
    Just thought I'd warn ya!

Yeah, from what I've heard they usually don't last long in aggressive tanks.

what are the chances that he will kill my synodontis multipuctatus? They are like half his size.

Well, not today and not quite all on the tank yet but here is the list of what I have got and or added to the tank today/yesterday

5 Sunset? Discus - In tank
3 Plants (probably Anubias) - In Tank
Magnum 350 - not on tank yet, need to fix a seal
Marineland Emporer 400 - No bio-wheel or cartridge

So I have to work on these 2 pumps a bit but I got them dirt cheap. Well worth the work! I think I am going to dis-assemble my Penguin 350 and move the wheels and cartridges to the Emporer and then buy some new wheels and run both.

The Magnum 350 is missing the top O-ring I think. The guy I got it from said he had a leak in the top and thought it was the o-ring. Hey, $7 fixes that!

So once I fix these filters my 125 will have 2 bio-wheels and a canister on it till I get around to adding a sump (wet/dry) in the future. But I think that will fix my filtration for a bit once they are up and going!
