Quick question James, I picked up a few cuttlebones in attempts to put a chunk in the tank for the snails. Obviously it's floating, is that okay (can't see how it would since snails would be unable to latch on to it)...and if not how do you get it to stay submerged? [confused]

It's "ok" to let them float as over time they will sink. However, the best thing to do is to break the chunks off you want and then boil them for a few minutes. Let them cool, then add them to the tank.

what does boiling do for them besides the sterilization? Does that help them to sink faster?

my god, I must have over 50 of the buggers...everywhere I look I see a few sliding up and down the glass! I've got albinos, ones that are blotchy (brown and lighter brown) and solid dark brown ones. I am clueless as to who bred with who (although I am thinking that the longfin albino one that I got which passed on was in on it).

other than a few males and a female or two?

shallower water with frequent water changes.

their egg layers: should lay them on your tank glass, filter intake, heater, or plant leaves

will have to remove eggs so others won't eat them (ie. breeder net)

also, will have very descent size brood of eggs similar to the angelfish.

The key ingredient (besides the obvious male/female :D ). Is temperature. They normally spawn shortly after a wc and the temp is a few degrees cooler than the normal tank temp.

yep, i've come across quite a few articles where ice cubes were added to stimulate the rainfall effect to stimulate spawning.

Leslie female cory's are often a bit bigger and rounder :) It's still hard to recognize the sexes though..
