No everyone else seems good. I moved my corys mid-spawn in my 125 down to my 10 gallon under the 125. Hopefully in a few days they will spawn again and they will go back a day later to the 125.

I have 2 angels that keep lip-locking and are always together (I think I have a pair that is thinking about spawning) and I have 3 discus that are jittering and lip-locking. Apparently the fish like the tank. (except that one)

Oh and I was fixing some of my new plants. I dont know what they are but the tall plant with the cabomba in the back (not the sword or the tall anubias) it has already started growing new chutes. There are like 5 or 6 new plants growing off of the plant!!!! Wow that did not take long. I wish I knew what it is. It grows tall and is kind of stemmy with bright green leaves and is sold in bunches like the cabomba.

Actually from what I have read and been told 2 of the Discus are males and 1 a female. Each male and the female are the ones lip-locking. The 2 males just push each other around. The lip-locking is not really aggressive, more like a gentle dance. I have had Oscars do that and they were a male and a female... They did it before an attempt to spawn more when they were courting each other.

The angels I will admit I know NOTHING about. I just treat them like discus and I have done well with them so far.

I agree with lemon, and the fish around here in NA spawn at that Se1an because of seasonal factors. Tropical fish can spawn whenever because of the tempurature being pretty consistent, and never cold enough to kill the babies. Number and frequency of spawns also depends on parental care, meaning how long they take care of the babies.

Well its Monday and everything arived as planned! This cannister filter is HUGE! It took me about 15 mins to hook the thing up, and shockingly to noone only took me three mins to break something lol. Luckily the piece I broke was not important and does not effect the functionality of the unit what so ever. For filter media I am using activated carbon to remove tannins and filter out organic matter, and the other two baskets were filled with bio balls from my wet dry to increase the fx5's biological filtration. Im not sure why, but my fish are now super active and swimming all over the tank. I also added a piece of driftwood that is 30" x 16" x 13". I am now waiting for one more of the giant bamboo leave plants to finish off the tank! I will try and find my camera charger and get some pics after I go to the library!

Once it finished priming etc, it lowered the water level in my 125 3/4 of an inch.

This morning I have 2 angelfish guarding a leaf full of eggs and pushing my discus and tetras away.... somewhere in the number of 50-75 eggs.

Definitely what you don't want "New in your tank"!

Have you checked your Nitrite and Nitrate levels?

Did 50% water change yesterday.. I'll end up doing another50% tomorrow..

even with two cascade 1200s with zeolite, its still hard to maintain a safe ammonia level with these guys..

i just went threw an ammonia bloom, did 50 % everyday for a week...

    they are very tough fish...

I could imagine. They would seem even dirtier eaters than Oscars... which as mentioned in other boards are quite dirty when they eat.... especially if you feed live food to them!
