Just bought a python and I am now on a water changing bonanza. This thing is probably the greatest thing to happen since latex.

whats new in my tank well discus eggs and in a bad place they bypassed the slate the breeding cone the leaves and even the side of the glass tank and lift tube for the filters......they chose to do there thing on the flippin heater and me with my pants down dont have another heater to drop in at the moment because the one in the 20 gals died today and the spare is in it.
Might have to change my name from noshow to noluck

Wow! that does suck! That is by far the worst place to lay eggs. Do you keep your heater vertical or horizontal?

Most of what I read said to be sure to keep your heater horizontal and at the bottom of the tank as if it is any other way or place the discus may think that is a nice spot to lay eggs.

Well, new this morning, about 600 Angelfish Eggs! They did it again, and a larger spawn this time. The female almost completely (80% or so) covered the largest Amazon Sword leaf in my tank!

The last spawn is due to free swim tonight-tomorrow night. I only see a few fry left (about 5-10) after the fungus outbreak.

The new batch I think I will let the parents do what they do. They actually laid the eggs this time in a decent spot. They laid them right near the outflow of my bio wheel. Of course this means it is near my intake, but really not that close as they laid the eggs just to the left of the left outflow side! Good choice in my opinion.

That little tank on the top left has what is left of the last spawn in it.

Here is Mom, Dad the eggs and the plant (they really did not like the camera!). Keep in mind this leaf is curled backwards ant that plant from bottom to top is about 12-13" tall and that is the tallest leaf on the plant!

As you see below they seem to be good parents. I have another photo of them tending the eggs but it is rather blurry.

    New today.... 3 things....

1st - eaten angelfish eggs, what a disappointment. Mother Angel ate all the wigglers. I kind of figured. Now I have seen the spawning tubes of all 3 angels, I have 2 females and 1 male. I was pretty sure but not certain until this morning. The mother of batch 2 is HORRIBLE! She left the eggs unattended almost all the time whenever I came near the tank. The first mother would not move. I learned if she is the mother pull the eggs and the other female is loaded with eggs and courting the male again.... we will see is she is any better.

2nd - that sick little discus now has ick and quit eating again. I separated him and nuking him with Quick Cure (Malachite Green/Formalin). I may watch him again for Hex. Not looking good again. But at least this one has lived longer than any other sick discus I have had. None of the others have ick so that is good. (Every tank has ick, really your fish has to have a low immune system to get it, this guy is just recovering from Hex so.... go figure)

3rd - I have now found out, my Hygrophila is one of the most aggressive growing plants in my Hot, Acidic, Softwater, Low Light tank. It came in a bundle of 5 and now after dividing it I have about 15! My stem plants now go across the back of the tank! Most of them are about 3 inches tall so I cannot see them well as a background plant but with their growth rate, in a few months my background should be made! These things are even doing better than my Amazon Swords!

The Discus is probably really stressed from all the meds and everything. Melafix also calms fish down. He might benefit from some of that along with his ich treatment.

Well, he did not make it the night. Too much stress/drugs, and not enough food.

the 4 left are the strong ones. The sibling is 3 times larger now then this one at death, heck the sibling is almost the size of the others now

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you won't have any problems with the others though.
