any chance those stripes might be stress bars from the relocation?

That's what I'm wondering. Yellow Labs and Red Zebras don't have stripes normally.

The bars were really faint, and it did have an orangy hue to it. You guys know better then me, my buddy told me he thought it was a zebra, i might be able to find a pic, let me get back to you with it.

Well, I am off of work today because my daughter had a fever yesterday. I decided to disassemble my air pumps I got with the tanks to see why they were not working. Turns out the suction cups inside are old and dry-rotted. I took the suction cup off of my weak air pump and put it on this monster pump that the lady gave me. I went ahead and added 2 airstones to my 125.

I also broke down and added one of my HOB filters to the 125. I have nice water circulation now as 1/2 of my tank was fairly stagnant. Hopefully this will help my bio-load capacity once I get the extra Discus!

Well I just got back from the pet store and I bought 3 plants (java fern, ozelot sword and I can't think of the other one right now it has small round leaves that are a reddish brown color and green?), a 4 inch plecotomus for the 55 gal and 1 1/2 inch plecotomus for the cichlid tank and one each for my kids guppy tanks. I also bought 5 black neons for the 55 gallon since it looks so bare with only the 6 fish that are actually swimming in the middle section. I'll take pictures tomorrow and get them posted. But I did get very lucky with my sales guy, he was great! He even took me back and showed me how to test the KH and GH since I have the kit but have never done it.

I have no idea...hahaha. I just liked it and it was in the tank with the swords and they told me it would grow fine with the lighting I have for a while until I am ready to upgrade the lighting. I'll take some pictures tomorrow and send them in.

3 platinum gouramis, 3 bloodfin tetras, 3 giant danios, and 3 other types of tetras which I can't remember the exact name of.

So today I decided I wanted to get a new fish for my tank, but I wanted to get something a little more aggressive and something in the catfish family (being that I have an obsession with them). So I went to an aquarium store, talked to the person working there, and he showed me some of the different cats he has (including the SA red tailed cats which is one of my ultimate obsessions, but I know will never be a possibility due to the minimum tank size (300gal), and the fact that we only have so much room at our place and in the spring my girlfriend and I are planning on doing a Bamboo Shark tank (200gal)). Anyway, so I decide to go with an Asian red tailed cat, which I was told will only get to 12" and wouldn't bother my other catfish (and also that fact that it was only $8 for one). So I get him home, and as I'm acclimating him to my tank, I look him up on another site I go to, and come to find out, not only do they get larger than 12" (try around 38") , but: "Many claim that H. wyckioides is the most aggressive freshwater fish in the world. Given this fish's ability to bite, it is not even safe with tank mates too large to swallow since it will simply take bites out them." so yea, this is going to get very interesting. I'll be having to get a large single species tank very soon for just him.....

I would never want to have a tank that large and only be able to keep one fish in it.
