Well I'm sitting at home this morning have my coffee It's about 9 am when a truck pulls up my driveway this is not FedX or UPS this is a 10 wheel freight truck The drive gets out and unloads a crate since I didn't order a crate I'm more or less at a lose because the paper work really doesn't tell me much.

After calling dear wife this is what was in the crate

I'm not really sure why we need a early 1900 vintage Victorian aquarium especially one that cost as much as this one

yes there is a 405 canister and a 200 watt inline heater in the base that is plumbed to thr center fountion(?) you just need a tool box (and a degree in engineering didn't hurt either) to service it
After 10 year of college wife makes 50% more money than I do and is 30 year my junior but yes it's something like that, she has no problem spending money with a total disregard

are you facing issues such as high water evaporation with the open top?

something like this may look nice (of course with goldfish you definately won't need that wattage...but maybe you can find something similar at the local hardware store and put a more appropriate bulb for fish in it).

I sure evaporation will be a issue when the AC is on but so far have n't seen high evaporation

The light you linked are the type that I have in mind but I have to sell her and it will have to "fit in" with the room If I could find a hanging-pendant with a leaded glass shade I would fit with high watt Compact Fluorescent

That is a nice tank though... even though it cost an arm and a leg... Kind of like having a mini pond in the house! :)

It kind of grow on you. At first I considered it a monument to stupidity

On the lighting front Ive process I really want to get a light over it with a output that I can maintain low light plants (not necessarily grow them but at least maintain) without the light fixture being a intrusion. I have DW coming around to Dawn and my way of thinking on the pendant lamp now all I have to do is steer her to a workable light fixture
